On the day I make a post about heading into colder temperatures, we are about to set a record here in Tennessee. If we continue this trend, tomorrow’s predicted temperature readings in the 70’s will break a record set in 1873. There’s a saying you here a lot around here, “If you don’t like the weather, just stick around, it will change.”

The photos in this post represent the transition from Summer to the cooler and later cold months that come with Fall and Winter respectively. They were taken in the Montgomery Bell State Park. I always see this time of year as a chance to slow down a bit and reflect on the past, present, and what’s to come. I actually like the solitude that I feel when walking through a park with no one else in sight. It can be a spiritual exercise.

While the outside can be dull and grey, you can always count on seeing pretty colors inside the little church located in the park. This is one of my favorite places to visit. It’s a nice place to have a conversation with the Lord which I have done on occasion.
