OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I hope everyone in the States had a nice and safe Independence Day. I wanted to make a quick post and share this picture. We bought some fireworks for the kids. Ok who am I kidding? Amy and I bought them for us, too, lol. Anyway the neighbors came over and we had a good time. We let the kids light the fuses to some of the smaller and more predictable fireworks. I had to light the others. With my camera on my tripod about 15 to 20 feet away from the fireworks, I had to light the fuse and then rush back to my camera. I left my remote shutter release dangling so I could easily get to it in time. I am not too experienced in shooting fireworks, but took a few good shots and the one posted here is my favorite. You will notice that this picture also illustrates a near miss. Take a look at the trajectory of the light at the bottom. It shot right by me.

I should mention that I shot 14 frames of Tri-X 400 this morning in Downtown Nashville so stay tuned for those uploads over the next few weeks depending on how long it takes me to finish the roll. I got to Nashville before 6:00am and city officials were already shutting down roads as they were preparing for the holiday activities and the Music City Marathon. I will talk more about this when I get the pictures developed.
